Adkins: Even Americans in Singapore Can't Escape U.S. Sanctions
Many Chinese people are immigrating to Singapore, partly because they believe that amidst escalating U.S.-China tensions, Singapore, as a neutral country, will allow them to continue doing business with both nations. We find this notion somewhat unrealistic; if a severe conflict arises between the U.S. and China, Singapore won't be able to remain untouched. It’s not just the Chinese; even Americans who engage in business with countries opposed to the U.S. cannot escape the consequences. In this article, we examine a recent case: Philip Adkins, an American doing business with Russia.
